Route 66

Ash Fork sits between Williams and Seligman on the old road, right off I-40, and Bert's Ink is a few miles north of it. People come through on the way to the Grand Canyon, on the way to California, and on the whole road from Chicago to Santa Monica. Some of them leave with a Route 66 shield, a highway sign, a mile marker, a map line across the ribs, or the name of the person riding shotgun.
Route 66 turns one hundred in November 2026. If the trip is this year, this is the year to make it permanent.
How to plan it so it fits the trip
- Text a day or two ahead. (928) 637-5129. Say the day you are coming through, what you have in mind, and about how big.
- Send a picture. The idea, the spot, or both. Bert tells you straight whether it fits in one sitting on the road.
- Give it the time it deserves. A small Route 66 piece fits a stop. Bigger work is a session, and worth staying the night in Williams or Seligman for.
- Leave with the sheet. Aftercare is written down and comes with you, so a day in the car does not cost you the healing.
