Aftercare

The tattoo is half the job. Healing is the other half.

This is the sheet you leave with. Follow it and the piece heals the way it looked the day it was done. Any question at all, text (928) 637-5129 and send a photo. En espaƱol.

The first day

  • Leave the wrap on as long as Bert told you at the chair. Then wash gently with warm water and a mild, fragrance free soap, and pat dry with a clean paper towel.
  • Apply a thin layer of the aftercare product Bert recommended. Thin. It should shine, not sit.
  • Wash your hands before you touch it, every time.

The first two weeks

  • Wash two or three times a day, thin layer of aftercare after each wash.
  • Loose clean clothing over it. Let it breathe.
  • It will peel and it will itch. Do not pick, do not scratch. Tap it.
  • No soaking: no baths, pools, hot tubs, lakes, or the Colorado River until it is fully healed.
  • Keep it out of the sun. Once healed, sunscreen is how it stays sharp for decades.

Call if

  • Redness spreads past the tattoo, the area gets hot, or you see yellow discharge after the first few days.
  • You have any question at all. A text and a photo takes two minutes and saves a piece.
